Mrs. Maggie Soots Gragg, age 84, of Hudson passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab in Wilkesboro. Born May 14, 1934 in Caldwell County, Maggie was a daughter of the late William and Ollie Baldwin Soots.She was Baptist by faith and a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church. She loved singing and was a former choir member at her church.She was also a Sunday School and Mission Friends teacher.Maggie enjoyed gardening and cooking.In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Soots, Walter Soots and A.V. Soots. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Luther Charlie Gragg; a son, Keith Gragg (wife Kimberly) of Granite Falls; two daughters, Lisa Colvard (husband Douglas) of Hudson and Michelle Long (husband Robert) of Holly Springs; five grandchildren, Joshua Colvard (wife Lucy), Alicia Colvard, Trevor Gragg, Carly Gragg and Allison Long; two great grandchildren, Isabelle Colvard and Wyatt Colvard; three brothers, Bradley Soots, Charlie Soots and Ray Soots; a sister, Katrina Pitts; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Maggie’s life will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Harris Chapel Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ron Burgett officiating.Interment will follow the service in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
