N. Lynn Mullinax, 72, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Lynn was born in Caldwell County to the late Massie Jr. and Louise Mullinax on September 20, 1948. He was married to Linda Mullinax for 27 years. Lynn proudly served and retired from the Army/Army National Guard for 35 years. He attained the rank and retired as MSG USA Retired (Master Sergeant). Lynn served two terms as the Commander of the American Legion Post 29. Also, he was NC District 21 Commander for two terms and NC Division 5 Commander for one term. Lynn was a member of Samaritan’s Christian Fellowship Church. Lynn was always a happy person always with a smile on his face, and a quick sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Lynn is preceded in death by his son, Joey Brian Mullinax; his brother, Robert Dennis Mullinax; his sisters, Deloris Mullinax Barrett and Rita Mullinax Reese; brother-in-law, Michael Goforth; nephew, Bradley Goforth; niece, Kathleen Barrett; and great-nephew, Levi Mullinax. In addition to his wife, Lynn is survived by his daughter Kimberly Mullinax Hicks (Chris); step-son, Jamie Goble; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Mullinax. He is survived by his grandchildren: Joey and Jordan Mullinax; Danielle Norris; Brianna Moray; and Emilie and Silas Goble. Lynn is survived by numerous great-grandchildren. Lynn is survived by his sisters: Rebecca Mullinax Bentley and Regina Mullinax Goforth, and numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind much family, friends, and brothers-in-arms to cherish his memory. Due to Covid-19, the family will have a graveside service by invitation only. The Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard, NC Army National Guard will present full military honors at the ceremony.
