Lydia Morrison, age 71, of Hudson passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born August 4, 1947 in Caldwell County, Lydia was a daughter of the late Walter Grant and Mary Elna Blackburn. She was a part of the drama, “I dreamed I searched Heaven for you”, performed by East Hudson Baptist Church. Lydia enjoyed being outdoors, working in her flowers, and going to the beach.Lydia attended Blue Ridge Baptist Church.Lydia loved spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren, also accompanying her granddaughter to her doctor appointments for Cystic Fibrosis at Duke University. Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Gervais Zapata (husband Guadalupe Garcia); Three sisters, Frances Hart of Conover, Rena Stone (husband Mike) of Ferguson, and Toni Walker of Boomer; two granddaughters, Kaydi Clinton of Hudson and Stayci Clinton (Partner Kristen) of Lenoir; four great grandchildren, Kameron Tolbert, Ahnya and Imani Rivera, and Olivia Bardwell; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Lydia’s life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Rodney Raby and Pastor Larry Winkler officiating.Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
