Lula Ann Smith

Granite Falls, NC- Lula Ann “Pat” Smith, age 73, of Granite Falls, passed away Thursday, January 03, 2013 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born July 27, 1939 in Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Isaac and Edith Taylor Smith. Pat was a member of Christian Fellowship Chapel. She loved to sing and visit with her family and friends. Pat helped raise the children in her family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bucky Smith, Oscar “Sonny” Smith and Richard Smith and sister, Martha Crouch. She is survived by two sisters, Sadie Bryant of Granite Falls; Sally Trivette of Banner Elk; two brothers, David Larry “Mickey” Smith of Granite Falls and Fred Smith of Banner Elk and 24 nieces and nephews. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Christian Fellowship Chapel with Pastor Dan Greene officiating.  A graveside service will follow at 2:30 on Saturday in the Smith Family Cemetery in Banner Elk. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at Christian Fellowship Chapel.
