Lucy Virginia Miller

Mrs. Lucy Virginia “Ginger” Miller, age 79, of Lenoir passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehab in Granite Falls. Born July 29, 1940 in Caldwell County, where she loved and lived most of her life to Lawrence and Maude Pope Cox. Ginger was a devoted home maker and mother.She worked in the furniture industry for most of her younger life.However, she would try her hand at many things.Those include driving school buses and long-haul trucking as a partner driver.She had a special passion for horses and pets of all kinds.She was a member of Seeds for Harvest Church in Hudson.Ginger was hard working and determined.She placed great value in those around her and enjoyed giving of herself and the joy that gifting brought. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and wife.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Baker Miller, who passed away in 2001.Ginger was always strong willed, entertaining and full of love for people and animals alike.She is survived by her three sons, Tim (wife Beth), Jeff (wife Patti) and Jason Johnson; a sister, Minnie Mae Wood; she is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Ginger’s life will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 3:00 PM.Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
