Granite Falls – Mrs. Louise Icenhour Prestwood, age 77, of Granite Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, July 11, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.Born July 29, 1936 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Nealie Ader Icenhour and the wife of the late Bobby Gene Prestwood. Other than her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by a Granddaughter, Vivian Prestwood. She was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church and loved her family and taking care of her Grandchildren.She had a love for the outdoors; gardening, fishing and loved to cook. A very special “Thank You” to the staff of Caldwell Hospice Robbins Center for the wonderful and loving care that was shown to Mrs. Prestwood, especially her Hospice Angels, Barbara Jones, Donna Hart, Amy Umstead, Chaplain John Robbins and Dr. Thomas Ray.Mrs. Prestwood looked forward to all the visits so she could watch The Walton’s and Little House on the Prairie. Mrs. Prestwood is survived by her two sons; Bobby Richard Prestwood and Gene Prestwood, both of Granite Falls; 2 brothers, Wallace Icenhour and wife Ann and Danie Icenhour and wife Cookie, all of Hudson; 2 sisters, Shirley Lingle and husband Charles of Granite Falls; Rosalee Canter of Boone; one Aunt, Mary Ellison of Boone; 6 Grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathon, Jordan, Julie, Audie, Marcus and 3 Great-Grandchildren, Malachi, Waylon and Angel Dawn. A celebration of Mrs. Prestwood’s life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Edd Warren and Chaplain John Robbins officiating.Burial will follow in the Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be:James Pritchett, Tyler Keller, Jordan Grant, Randall Gragg, Michael Powell, Brian Harrison, Scott Greene and Steven Greene.
