Anna Louise Throneburg McCall, 93, of Lenoir passed away surrounded by family and friends Monday, April 3, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born November 20, 1923 in Hudson to the late Karl Peterson Throneburg and Anna Brown Throneburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Wade McCall and her four brothers and four sisters. She was of strong faith and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was an active member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Lenoir where she was a member of the choir and Sunday school teacher. She attended Lenoir Rhyne College and was the last surviving charter member of the North Carolina Omicron Chapter Alpha Delta Kappa honorary teaching sorority. She was a first grade teacher for 41 years in Caldwell County schools, with the majority of that time at West Lenoir Elementary School. She is survived by her son, Richard McCall, grandchildren, Heather McCall (Dave Schwimmer), Janna Brown (Patrick), Alisa Patterson (Robert), and Jordan McCall and great-grandchildren, Alexa McCall, Alanna Brown, Riley Patterson, Jonah Brown, Ava Patterson, and Gabriella Brown. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, April 8 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church with services immediately following. Graveside rites will be held at 3:00 pm at Blue Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Dan Duke officiating.
