Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Louise Tester Cook, age 88, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2019 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Born April 22, 1928 in the Upton Community of Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Annie Ruth Craig Tester and wife of the late John Martin Cook, Jr. Mrs. Cook was a faithful Christian all of her life and attended Lenoir Community Church and was active in the Lenoir Senior Center. Our mother was a loving Christian who praised God. She never met a stranger. She was a caregiver and hospitable to all. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Michael Anthony “Tony” Craig and one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Craig. She is survived by six daughters, Linda Buchanan and husband Tim, Rita Pritchard and husband Barry, Glendora Yarbrough and husband Ken, Tammy Bodde and husband Greg, Cynthia Cook, Mary Summerow; three sons, James Craig, Richard “Rick” Craig and wife Debra, Gregory “Greg” Craig and wife Betty; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Cook’s life will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Lenoir Community Church with Pastor Daniel McGee officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
