Louis Cornell

Louis H. Cornell, age 77 of Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. Louis was born in Watauga County, N.C. on July 12, 1941 to the late Minyard Howell Cornell (M.H.) and Edith Moretz Cornell. He was a collector of "things" that could be used to build or repair other items. He loved his friends and enjoyed talking with them in person or on the phone. Louis was a member of Rich Mountain Baptist Church and attended Crest View Baptist Church. Louis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cornelia Gryder Cornell, his son David Cornell, a niece and two nephews and their families, and a number of cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7 at Crest View Baptist Church, 1908 Blowing Rock Blvd., Lenoir, NC conducted by Reverend Michael Isaacs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
