Lottie Crump

Hudson- Mrs. Lottie Pearl Moretz Crump, age 83, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Abernathy Laurels in Newton. She was born in Alexander County on June 11, 1937 to the late Clark and Maude Moretz. She worked in the furniture industry, as a sewer, most of her life. Mrs. Crump was a long-time member of Highland Baptist Church. She loved square dancing with her husband, spoiling her grandkids, especially Lacey, and she loved to cook and have her family together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John H. Crump; mother-in-law, Barbara Crump, brothers, Douglas Moretz and Howard Moretz; sisters, Mildred and husband, Dwight McRary; Beulah Poovey; Tressie Hall and husband, Paul and sister-in-law, Sylvia Moretz. Mrs. Crump is survived by her son, Jeffrey Crump and partner, Janice Howard; grandson, Derek Crump and wife, Chloe Crump; granddaughters, Shannon Johnson; Lacey Crump and fiancée Ricky West; great-grandchildren, Emma, Riley and Addison Johnson; and Emery and Camden Crump; siblings, Horace Moretz, Louella and James Herman; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. The family will have a graveside service celebrating Mrs. Crump’s life at a later date. Memorials may be sent to Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
