Mrs. Loretta Sue “Susie” Prestwood, age 55, of Hudson, lost her battle with cancer on October 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born January 12, 1963 in Catawba county, Loretta was a daughter of the late William Monroe Burch, Sr. and Edith Elizabeth Burch.Loretta worked at Shuford Mills for 14 years as a spin off operator.She also worked with Diversified Composites and Nepco before deciding to become a caregiver.Loretta was a caregiver to several families throughout the last 10 to 15 years.She not only cared for her family, but providing care for families when they needed it most.Loretta put her heart and soul in whatever she focused her mind on.You could always count on her word.If she said it… it was done no matter what.She loved fishing, yard sales, antiques, spending time with family and her dog Bubba.She also enjoyed talking about cars and reminiscing with her brother Billy on their past experiences with cars.What Loretta enjoyed most was being a grandmother and spoiling them.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Theodore and Athalou Hoyle; a sister, Barbra Louella Burch; a brother, Gary Eugene Bryant; two sisters in law, Vickie H. Bryant and Lynnay H. Burch; her loving fur babies, Whitefoot, Chloe and Pepper. Sue is survived by her husband of 28 years, Randel Prestwood of the Home; a daughter, Melissa S. Pearce (husband Michael) of Hudson; a son, Reuben James Prestwood; two sisters, Patti Nelson (husband Michael) and Libby Brown (husband Jackie); two brothers, Billy Burch and Phil Bryant; her grandchildren, Michael D. Pearce, Jozlin Oliver and Jake Prestwood; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. The family will have a visitation celebrating Loretta’s life on Friday, October 26, 2018 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
