Georgia Loretta Suddreth Younce Clark, 88, of Lenoir, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care after a brief illness. Born September 25, 1928 to the late W.E.”Jack” and Hattie Jewel Childers Suddreth, Loretta graduated from Lenoir High School in 1946 and attended Clevengers Business College in Lenoir. She retired from her job in accounts receivable at Bernhardt Industries in 1991. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 31 years, Sanford Lewis Younce, Sr. “Tommy”; her second husband of 25 years, Charles Reeves Clark; and sisters, Billy Sue Suddreth; Cleo Suddreth McGee (Howard); Katherine Suddreth Wright (Clarence). Survivors include her sisters, Doralee Suddreth Caudle (Bob); and Reva Suddreth Dula (Jack); children, Sanford Lewis Younce, Jr.”Sandy” (Lynn); and Rosanne Younce Annas (Eddie). Loretta’s grandchildren are Caroline Annas Hewlett; Lindy Annas Davis (Matt); Thomas Evans Younce; and Kate Evans Younce; great-grandchildren, Ethan Taylor Hewlett; Cooper Lee Davis; and Clara Jewel Davis. Loretta was well known as a generous “giver” of her time and talents. Her passion for meeting the needs of others in this community was exemplified in the 30 years she volunteered for Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Loretta’s most valued personal accomplishment, other than her family, was completing the CCC & TI Nursing Assistant programs I and II at age 71. Loretta’s homegoing will be celebrated where she has been a member for 72 years, College Avenue Baptist Church, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with Dr. Charles Brawley and Pastor Jim Hamby officiating. Interment will be at Whitnel First Baptist Church. Pallbearers of her earthly body are Jerry Eldreth, Chris Dula, Tommy Younce, Bobby Caudle, Jr. and Bobby Caudle, III. Travis Triplett is honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service.
