Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Lola Faye Ward Pope, age 69, of Lenoir, died  Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Gateway Nursing Center in Lenoir. Born July 1, 1940 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late London and Ivy Lee Davis Ward. Mrs. Pope was a housewife. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, three half brothers, one sister, and one half sister. She is survived by her husband Floyd L. Pope of the home; two daughters, Nadine Auton and Sharon P. Crowe, both of Lenoir; three sons and daughters-in-law, Darcy Pope, Dale and Erica Pope, and Darian and Judy Pope all of Lenoir; three sisters; one brother; eight grandchildren, Michelle Barnwell, Tony Thomas, Kurt Ritchie, Eric Crowe, Melody Crowe, Ivy Pope, Buddy Pope and Heather Pope; seven great-grandchildren and also by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Mrs. Pope?s life will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, January 21, 2009 at the Crossroads Community Church with Reverend James Johnson officiating, and eulogy by Robert McMillon. Interment will follow the service in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service.
