Mrs. Lola Mae Hargus, age 100, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Shaire Center. Born July 10, 1920 in Watauga County, Lola was a daughter of the late Avery and Annie Ruth Minton.Lola enjoyed helping those in need.She was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church in Granite Falls.She enjoyed quilting, but cooking was her favorite.She will be remembered for cooking the best Thanksgiving dressing, banana pudding and chicken and dumplings.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hargus; a grandson, Greg Hargus; three sisters and six brothers. Survivors include her two sons, Larry Hargus (wife Shirley) and Norman Hargus (wife Rita); her grandchildren, Mark Hargus, Kim Shook, Kevin Hargus, Cheri Pope, Richard McNeil, Derek Hargus and Aaron Hargus; she is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. The family will be having a private graveside service to celebrate Lola’s life. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Shaire Center and to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care for the love and comfort shown to Lola and the family.
