Linda Duncan Reid Corpening

Lenoir- Mrs. Linda Duncan Reid Corpening, age 79, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice.Born October 22, 1935 in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Jay and Hailey Harris Duncan. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd James Reid, Sr., her second husband, Mason Corpening and her brother, Jay Duncan, Jr. Mrs. Corpening was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church.She had served as pianist at each church where she had attended.She was very active in the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU).All who knew her will remember her love of family and church.She had retired from Bernhardt Furniture Industry with over 25 years of service. She is survived by three sons, Floyd James Reid, Jr. and wife Martha of Lenoir; Charles Michael Reid of Lenoir; Barry Matthew Reid and wife Jeannie of Rhodhiss; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Corpening’s life will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Oxford Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Neal Walker and Reverend Stuart White officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxford Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Evans Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be:Mark Duncan, Greg Duncan, Robert Duncan, Matthew Reid, Jack Reid, Micheal Rogers, David Anderson and Kirk White.
