Linda Mathews

Linda Marie Mathews, age 55, passed away June 9, 2018 at her home in the community of Baton. Born September 9, 1962 to Donald and Edna Marie Sample in Toledo, Ohio, Linda was a graduate of Whitmer High School before going on to study at the University of Toledo. Upon graduating, she married her husband, Dale John Mathews, and gave birth to their son, Jason Allen Mathews. She is survived by her parents, Donald and Edna Marie Sample, of Hartwell, GA; her brother, David Sample and his family of Kingsport, TN; her husband, Dale Mathews of Baton; and her son, Jason Mathews of Charlotte. Linda was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend to many who always put the needs of those she loved before her own. Aside from being an avid animal lover, she also had an interest in the arts from an early age, and enjoyed painting and creating pottery as some of her favorite hobbies. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a date in the near future, with the family announcing details when final arrangements are made.
