Linda Prestwood Estes

Linda Estes Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Linda Prestwood Estes, age 65, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. She was born in Caldwell County on September 21, 1947 to the late John Howard Prestwood and Emily Beatrice Adkins Prestwood. She was married to her loving husband, Arnold C. Estes of the home, for more than 41 years. Linda worked at Shadowline in Morganton for over 40 years and while there she made many life-long friends of her co-workers. Linda is fondly remembered for her good sense of humor and her ability to write poetry. She often remembered friends birthdays and special occasions by writing a poem for them. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara P. Collins and her life-long friend from childhood, Nancy P. Kilby. Other than her husband she is survived by her daughter, Tracy E. Bumgarner and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Mitchell Heavner who is stationed in Italy with the U.S. Air Force; Nicholas Heavner of Lenoir and currently attending Appalachian State University; and Teresa Heavner, also known by her loving grandparents as “T-Berry”, currently attending Western Carolina University; her loving sisters, Mrs. Katherine P. Hayes; Mrs. Elsie P. Greene; and Mrs. Dorris P. Kincaid and husband, Robert; and her loving neighbors, Brenda and Michael Hartley. Above all Linda was known for her many friends, including Terry Kincaid, Janet Clontz, and many other friends to numerous to mention, but they know who they are and she loved them all.
