Linda Earp Crump

Linda Earp Crump, age 71, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center, surrounded by family. Linda was born October 26, 1944 in Caldwell County to the late Kermit Smith Earp and Beatrice “Helena” Laxton Earp. Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her late husband, James “Jim” Lewis Crump. Linda graduated from Lenoir High School and soon married her soulmate, Jim. Linda chose her career as a floral designer. She was the owner and operator of City Florist in Lenoir and Bridal Elegance and Formalwear. She retired in 1996 to fulfill her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Linda was a member of many philanthropic organizations and served on various civic committees. She was a board member for many community organizations for Caldwell County. Linda held several executive positions for ABWA as well as Altrusa. She also volunteered with Caldwell UNC Hospital auxiliary. Linda was survived by her son, Richard Lewis Crump and wife Amy Coffey Crump of Lenoir; two Grandsons, Dustin Kyle Crump and wife Taylor Curtiss Crump of Wilmington and Dylan Kurt Crump of Charlotte; two Granddaughter’s Kymber Michelle Crump of Lenoir and Sierra Cheyenne Wilson of Appalachian State University; one great- granddaughter Ella Claire Crump of Wilmington; one brother Kermit Steven Earp and wife Suzanne Phillips Earp; of Lenoir; brother-in-law Mayor, Hunter “Pedro” Morris Crump and wife Polly Gurley Crump of Gamewell; four nieces and one nephew. Linda served as an elder at United Presbyterian Church of Lenoir. She served on various church committees throughout her membership. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Steve Austin and Pastor Fred Barnes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Wig Bank of Caldwell County, 226 Mulberry St SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
