Linda Barrier

Morganton – Linda Laws Barrier, age 66, went home to her Savior on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Carolinas Healthcare Blue Ridge in Morganton. She was born in Caldwell County on December 10, 1954 to the late Johnnie and Ruth Price Laws. She was married to Charles Barrier of the residence for more than 51 years. Linda was loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted her entire self to caring for her family and loved ones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin Laws and David Laws; sister, Margaret Shatley; and granddaughter, Logan Penley. Other than her husband, she is survived by her son, Charles Wayne Barrier; daughter, Jennifer Penley and husband, Robie Cox; grandchildren, Taylor and Cody Penley; great-grandchildren, Noah Pearson and Blake Moir; brother, Steve Laws and wife, Linda; sisters, Brenda Laws; Glenda Laws and Peggy Greene; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Walking By Faith Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Marvin Ford officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service and afterwards at Jennifer Penley’s residence, 1264 Alanda Drive, Lenoir, NC.
