Lenoir – Lillian Bruner Clark passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at Grandview Villa Assisted Living after an extended period of declining health. Born in McDowell County on March 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Larkin Bruner and Eliza Lewis Bruner. She loved her family and friends and genuinely sought the best in other people. Prior to her illness, she was an active member of College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir. Mrs. Clark and her late husband, Walter Perman Clark formerly operated Clark’s Barbeque Drive-In locally, as well as Abernathy Apartments. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Bruner and Myrtle Bruner Lewis and brothers, John Bruner, Lee Bruner, Joe Bruner, Floyd Bruner and Roy Bruner. She is survived by a sister, Autumn Gibbs of Marion, a grandson, Mark Persinger, of Hudson, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Prior to her illness, she was an active member of College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir. Her family wishes to particularly express their appreciation for the gentle and considerate care she received from the staff at Grandview Villa Assisted Living. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life with a graveside service led by the Reverend Chuck Brawley on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Whitnel Cemetery.
