Lewis Moore

Lenoir- Mr. Lewis Lee Moore, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Watauga County on November 1, 1925 to the late Bynum and Ida Moore. He was married to Violet Earp Moore for 70 years. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Navy and a long-time, active member of North Catawba Baptist Church where he served in many different capacities. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lewis Dean Moore; brothers, Ivey, Clyde and Dana Moore; and his sister, Hazel Arnette. Other than his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by his children, Etheleen Phillips and husband, Robert; Lois Fox and husband, James; Phyllis Deal; Dennis Moore and wife, Myra; Judy Greene and husband, Ron; Dale Moore and wife, Penny; sisters, Blanche, Bertha and Betty; grandchildren, Tamara Hines and husband, Jason; Levia Crater and husband, Bryan; Jonathan Deal and wife, Kendra; Natalie Phillips; Emilee Myers and husband, Scott; Stacy Deal; Josh Moore; Kristen Elliott and husband, Mike; Vanessa Martin and husband, Chad; Drew Greene; Jessica Casale and husband, Brad; Stephanie Daniels and husband, Petey; Jessie Vestal and husband, Justin; David Moore; 20 great-grandchildren and one due in June; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Moore’s life will be held at North Catawba Baptist Church on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ned Webb and Pastor John Barnhardt officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to North Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1596 North Catawba Church Avenue, Lenoir, NC28645.
