Lester Horton

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Lester Horton, age 77, of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born February 29, 1932 in Caldwell County, Mr. Horton was a son of the late Jim and Vern Colbert Horton. Mr. Horton was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church and had attended Mt. Bethel AMC; he also worked as a farmer for many years. He is survived by his wife Paralee Naomi Horton of Lenoir; one daughter, Evette Horton of Lenoir; one son, Lester Horton Jr. of Lenoir; one stepson, Thomas Eric Ferguson of Lenoir; one step daughter, Gloria L. and Chris Hendrix of Lenoir; three grandchildren, Jaleeza Leshell Horton, Chelsa Jane Isaac, and Kadesha Zaire Horton, both of Lenoir; three step grandchildren, Tish Ferguson and Christian Hendrix, both of Lenoir, and LT Ferguson of Petersburg, VA; He is also survived by several great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend James Wilfoong officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645.
