Leon Victor Hollar

Leon Victor Hollar, 80, passed away on Wednesday August 7, 2024.

Leon was born on August 21, 1943, to the late Victor Hollar and Jimmie Greene.

In addition to his parents, Leon is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Colene Hollar; daughter, Joan Crain; grandsons, Randy Crain and Tyler Horton; great granddaughter, Radiance; brothers, Larry, Danny, Dale, his dear canine companions, Petey, Stumpy, Max and Asia.

Those left to cherish Leon’s memory are his daughter, Darlene Hollar (Kenneth Horton); son, Randy Hollar (Debra); grandchildren, Amanda (Mikie), Chrissy, Chasity, Devin (Madison); great-grandchildren; Taylor (Nolan), Tiffany, Courtney, Nathan, Shayla, Akira, Ezra, Mackayden, Xiaire, Keegan, Zacharye, Lilly (Zane), Michael, Tyler II, Brandi, Dustin ; great-great grandchildren, Colton, Jesse, Kadrian, Kinsley, Brandon; dear nieces, Angel and Elizabeth; brother, Terry Messer; and a dear friend, Patsy.

Leon was a truck driver for over 40 years.  He loved woodworking, fishing, his four-legged companions, sitting on the porch watching the birds and capturing home videos.  Leon had a cardinal friend that would follow him to the feed buckets and stay while he put the food out every day.  Leon loved his family more than anything.  Every summer he would take his family to Cherokee or the beach.  Leon was greatly loved and he will be dearly missed.

A service to celebrate Leon’s life will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Evans Funeral Service at 3:00 PM with Pastor James Todd officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior at Evans Funeral Service from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Bollinger Cemetery on Dragstrip Road in Hudson.

Pallbearers will be Devin Hollar, Nolan Smith, Ken Kidd, Christian Kidd, Terry Messer and Ken Horton.

There will be a covered dish fellowship at Mulberry Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 4024 Kirby Mountain Road, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  Anyone who would like to attend the covered dish fellowship, please bring a covered dish of your choice.
