Lawrence Dan Hamby

Lawrence Dan Hamby, 74, of Hudson passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Wilkes County on June 16, 1942 to the late Thomas Linnie Hamby and Delia Nichols Hamby. He was a retired furniture worker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen Hamby Minton and Kate Hamby Walsh; brothers, Tommy Hamby, Bill Hamby, Charlie Hamby, Vaughn Hamby, Fred Hamby, Clyde Hamby, Jerry Hamby, Ralph Hamby and a baby boy. Lawrence is survived by his sisters, Nellie Hamby Minton and husband, Glen of Hudson and Juanita Hamby Sawyers and husband, Dennis of Wilkesboro; children, Dan Hamby, Cynthia Hamby Ball and Vaughn Hamby, all of Asheville. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
