Laverne Greene

LaVerne Greene Granite Falls – Mrs. LaVerne Annas Greene, age 87, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Shaire Center. She was born in Caldwell County on February 28, 1931 to the late Connor and Rindia Greene. LaVerne was a long-time member of Mountain Grove Church and worked as a nurse, primarily in Hickory for more than 40 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, P.D. Annas, Jr. and Jonathan Sherman Greene; brothers, Vance Greene and Doyle Greene and her sister, Arlea Greene Hart. LaVerne is survived by her son, Gary Annas and wife, Debbie; grandsons. Kevin Annas and wife, Lori; Shawn Annas and wife, Trista; great-grandchildren, Ryan Annas and wife, Olivia; Brendan Annas and Noah Annas.; sisters, Lois Greene Riggs and Mabel Greene Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Doug Cox officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service.
