Laura Jean Bean Melvin

LAURA JEAN BEAN MELVIN passed away as peacefully as she lived on March 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born to the late Ransom J. Bean and Clara Mae Honeycutt Bean.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings: two brothers, James Bean and Billy Bean; and four sisters, Margie White; Helen Wesson; Carolyn Sullivan; and Judith Suddreth. Laura is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Laura married Donald Melvin in 1959. After being a loving and devoted wife of nearly 50 years, she was preceded in death by her husband. She and “Honey” had two daughters, Teresa and Lisa. She was such a special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was deeply loved by us all. She was lovingly called Nanny by many. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa and her husband John and their two daughters, Jennifer and her husband Ryan and their three sons; and Kimberly and her husband Ethan and their three fur babies. She is also survived by her daughter, Lisa and her husband Ron and their four children, Heather and her husband and six children; Ronnie; Dylan; and Josie. Laura also enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends, and enjoyed bird watching, flowers, butterflies, and cooking for family and friends alike. Her friends loved her kindness and her delicious meals and treats! She will be missed by so many. She was loved by all who met her. She was our angel!
