Larry Edward Waters aka Whopper. Larry was born to OJ and Cletus Waters on October 12, 1953. He was 68 years old at his passing. Larry resided in Lenoir, NC. He went to be with the Lord on January 28th, 2022. Larry was adored by his family and friends that he made throughout life’s journey. Larry worked as a truck driver for several different companies in the area, including Anderson Truck Line, Cargo Transportation, and Ozark and Queens Motor lines. He was a dedicated trucker for 41 years. His friends in the trucking industry called him Carolina Eagle (CB Handle). Through his life he made many acquaintances but even more friends. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. At the end of Larry’s life, he had to undergo a liver and kidney transplant, which took place in 2018 at UNC Chapel Hill. Sadly, the kidney never worked 100 percent, and he had to continue dialysis a total of five years until his body couldn’t not take it any longer. He had to stop doing dialysis on January 24th, 2022. He was a dedicated father and grandfather, a devoted husband, and a great friend to all. He had a foundation in God and would carry that with him throughout life. He would share the Lord with many people. He was a blessing and a truly amazing man. He would always say “never give up”. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Philippians 4:13. He was preceded in death by his father Ollie James Waters and mother Cletus A Waters, brother Billy Waters, and three sisters: Arlee Coffey, Vella Mae Gragg and Ima Jean Waters.
