Larry Marcellis

Mr. Larry Joseph Marcellis, age 63, of Granite Falls, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Blue Ridge Health Care-Morganton. Born September 15, 1955 in Iron Mountain, MI, Larry was a son of Howard Marcellis and the late Joyce Marcellis.Larry loved sports and held many records in Football and Basketball.After graduating from Niagra High school, he attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh on a football scholarship.Larry was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.He was a teacher’s assistant for 18 years with the Caldwell county school system.He also served as a Basketball coach at Harris Chapel Christian Academy for several years.Larry attended Union Grove Baptist Church.In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Marie Leitch. In addition to his father, he is also survived by his wife of 39 years, Suzanne Marcellis; a son, Josh Marcellis (wife Vilay) of Greensboro; a daughter, Lindsay David (husband Chad) of Ft. Myers, Florida; a brother, Dan Marcellis (wife Anne) of Minnesota; three granddaughters, Ellie, Avery, Lila; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Union Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Pastor Sam Craven officiating.
