Lenoir– Kevin Guinn Walker, age 52, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home.Born April 22, 1963 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Charles Sherman Walker and his mother, the late Shirley Lucille Coffey Perry. He is also preceded in death by his grandmother, Elva Coffey. Kevin was a member of Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church.He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and collector of Harley-Davidsons.He was an upholsterer by trade and loved cutting and splitting wood and gardening. He is survived by his brother, Scott Walker of Hickory; his step-father, Robert Perry of Hickory; two aunts, Dorothy Dellinger of Lenoir; Nelda Coffey of Hudson and several cousins and other relatives. A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Nicky Waters officiating.A private burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM. Pallbearers will be:Randy Dellinger, Charles Dellinger, Tim Crump, Freddie Campbell and Jay Richards. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The National Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311 or Bethel Colony of Mercy, 1675 Bethel Colony Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
