Salisbury, NC- Mr. Kenneth Guy Wilson, age 87, formerly of Lenoir, died Friday, October 31, 2008 in the North Carolina State Veteran?s Home in Salisbury. Born January 7, 1921 in Mitchell County, NC, Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Frank and Geneva Slagle Wilson and the husband of Mrs. Christine Wootton Wilson to whom he shared 55 1/2years of marriage. Mr. Wilson was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired NC State Highway Patrol Trooper where he was faithful to his service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Audrey Leigh Wilson of Hickory; Deborah G. Wilson of Radford, VA; three grandchildren, Mary Edwards and husband Dustin of Conover; Daniel Turner of Lenoir; Andrew W. Pierce of Radford, VA and 5 great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Kenneth Turner. A celebration of Mr. Wilson?s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, November 2, 2008 in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Steve Walsh officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 until 3 PM, one hour prior to the service.
