Kenneth Woodrow Tallent

Kenneth Woodrow Tallent, age 84, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare.He was born August 26, 1936 in Macon County, NC to the late Lloyd Terrell Tallent and Lilly Angel Tallent.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Nell Hoffman Tallent; two brothers, Cecil Tallent and Theodore Tallent. Survivors include his wife, Elva Hall Tallent; sons, Eddie Tallent, Randall Tallent, and Kenneth Evan Tallent; daughter, Marsha Tallent Collier and husband Andrew; grandchildren, Joshua Tallent and wife Ashley, Justin Tallent and wife Chrystal, Landree Collier and Tanner Collier; and one great-granddaughter, Mia Tallent. Kenneth was retired from Caldwell County Public Schools after teaching for over thirty years at West Caldwell and Gamewell-Collettsville High Schools.He was also a longstanding member of Flemings Chapel Baptist Church. A small graveside service is planned for Monday, December 21, 2020 for family and close friends. Out of respect for the family, masks and social distancing will be required.
