Kenneth “Ken” E. Robbins, age 85, passed away in his home on Friday, July 14th, 2023, with all his family by his side. He was born on May 12th, 1938, to Alan and Kita Robbins. Ken worked in the Furniture Factory for 30 years. When he retired, he began custodial work for Hudson Middle School and William Lenoir Middle School until he had to stop due to Dialysis. Ken was attending Abington Rd. Baptist Church with his daughter Lynn until he was unable to go. Ken was a huge fan of gardening and fishing, but his passion was working in his building. He loved building and fixing things and was always building things for his wife. Whatever she wanted, he would figure it out and build it. Ken was proceeded in death by Helen; his wife of 60 years, and his parents Alan and Kita Robbins. Ken is survived by his 5 children; Sherry Robbins, of Granite Falls; Lynn Robbins, who has been his caregiver for the past 4 years; Greg (wife Cindy) Robbins, of Oak Island NC; Melissa Trivette, of Lenoir; Scott (wife Melissa “Mick” as Ken called her) of Lenoir. Ken had 7 grandkids; Jason, Chasity, Drew, Kali, Kolbi, Matthew, and Haven; 4 great grandkids; Gracie, Brooklyn, Hailey, Rileigh and last but not least; Molly, his loving dog. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 19th at Evans Funeral Service. The Funeral service will begin at 2:00pm with Pastor Randy Church officiating. Internment to follow, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pall Bearers will be; Jason Burchette, Drew Robbins, Johnnie Shull, James Lineberger, Darrin Price and Brit Wilkinson.
