Kenneth Herbert Icenhour

Valdese, NC- Kenneth Herbert Icenhour, age 80, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 at the College Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on October 19, 1928 in Alexander County to the late Dewey Roosevelt and Pauline Little Icenhour, Sr. Kenneth was self employed and owned and operated the Piedmont Cleaners and Laundry in Lenoir prior to his retirement. He also operated Ferree Cleaners in Morganton Post retirement. He was Presbyterian by faith, and had attended the United Presbyterian Church. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War and a member of the Shriners Oasis Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Zack Icenhour, Hillis Icenhour, and Tim Icenhour. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Gilda Moody Icenhour, two sons and a daughter in law, Greg D. and Margaret Icenhour of Matthews, NC, and Erik Kenneth Icenhour of Chicago, IL; one daughter and son in law, Tracey and Daniel McGuire of Lenoir; one brother and sister in law, Dewey R. Icenhour, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Lenoir; four grandchildren, Laura A. Icenhour of Matthews, NC, Greg K. Icenhour of Matthews, NC, Trevor D. McGuire of Lenoir, and Tyler D. McGuire of Lenoir; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
