Kenneth Calloway

Lenoir – Kenneth Eugene Calloway, age 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 12, 2022. He was born in Watauga County on June 18, 1941 to the late Donald and Dretha Calloway. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Faye Calloway, for 62 years.

Kenneth spent his 60 year working career in the furniture industry, retiring from Thomasville Furniture with perfect attendance. He loved gardening in the summer and watching westerns on TV. Working in search word books and finding things to fix were his hobbies. His family was his pride and joy while watching them grow over the years. Humor and comedy were two of his strongest traits that he loved not only sharing, but teaching them.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Michael Calloway; grandson, Jeremy Fletcher; brothers, Coolidge, Major and Jack Calloway; sisters, Eulala Calloway and Capitola Trivette.

Other than his wife, Faye, he is survived by his son, Tim Calloway; daughters, Teresa Anderson and husband, Joe; Eulala Fletcher and husband, Tim; Dretha Creech and husband, John; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Reverend John Creech and Pastor Tony Harris officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Scott Calloway, Tyler Lance, Richie Minton, Joe Anderson, Jesse Calloway and Shey Faulkner. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter, Graham and Mason Minton.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
