Ken Bryant

Kenneth Wayne Bryant, age 84, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Amorem. He was born in Caldwell County on November 30, 1938 to the late Davis Bryant and Vernie McDade Bryant. He was married to Frances “Pat” Messer Bryant of the home.

Ken retired from Flowers Auto Parts after 49 years. He grew up on a farm in Cajah’s Mountain and later served his country in the National Guard for six years. He met the love of his life, Pat, at the Red Pig in Lenoir. He lovingly called her “red” because of her auburn hair and they soon married and shared the next 62 years together. He gave his life to the Lord as a young boy. Ken was an active member of Lower Creek Baptist Church and truly enjoyed his Men’s Sunday School Class. He was always compassionate for someone in need and would share what he had in service to the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann Keller; Shelby Jean Watson and infant brother, Sam Bryant.

Other than his wife, Ken is survived by his daughter, Wendy Bryant Setzer and husband, Gerald; son, Tim Bryant; grandchildren, Beth Howell and husband, James; Amanda Setzer; TJ Bryant; Teddi Setzer; great-grandchildren, Colton Setzer; Braylon Bryant; Nivea and Leticia Quinn;  Xander Howell; brothers, Steve Bryant and wife, Suzette; Gerald Bryant and wife, Edie; Richard Bryant and wife, Alene; sister, Vicky Hatley and husband, Lloyd.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 6:00 until 7:00 PM.
