Kelly Creekmur

Rev. Kelly Anthony Creekmur, age 67, of Lenoir passed away February 10, 2019 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Born July 16, 1951 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Kelly was the son of the late George H. and Barbara Toth Creekmur.He always found time to come back to New Jersey once a year to spend Thanksgiving with his extended family and everyone looked forward to his blessing of the turkey dinner.When he wasn’t with his family, you could find him with his “church family.”PK, as he was known, opened hearts and minds to the love of Jesus, led spirited discussions in Bible study and danced with the youth in VBS. He loved each and every one of the children in the youth group as if they were his own, sharingstories of their sports and school accomplishments like a proud grandparent. Kelly loved his family and is survived by his wife Diane Scott-Creekmur; his sons, Scott Kelly Creekmur (wife Amanda Jo), Ryan William Creekmur (Mindy), and Jonathan George Creekmur (wife Samantha);Grandchildren, Kaleb, Isabella and Mason;Sisters, Susan May Riemschneider (husband Peter) and Lynne Paula Reid (husband William);he is also survived by his 2 nieces and their husbands, 3 nephews and their wives, 4 great-nephews and 4 great-nieces. We were all blessed to have Pastor Kelly in our lives.God knew what he was doing when Diane and Kelly’s paths crossed. Even though their time together was short, it was filled with happiness and love.Everyone who knew them was touched by the love and kindness they showed to one another. A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 3:30 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Allen Boliek, Reverend Sandy Young and Reverend Benny Clodfelter.
