Kay Cash Nelms

Lenoir – Mrs. Kay Cash Nelms, age, 72, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Gaston County on January 27, 1942 to the late Author V. Cash and Cora Hembree Cash. She was married to George B. Nelms of the residence for more than 41 years. Mrs. Nelms loved the Lord and her family. She began playing the piano when she was eight years old and started playing in church when she was nine. Mrs. Nelms was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and a member of the Senior Crafters at the Lenoir Senior Center. She was always keeping herself busy with crafts. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Bingham and husband, Charlie of the home; Ginger Foster of Folsom, CA; grandchildren, Tabitha Calo, Heather Calo, Alicia Bingham, Heather Eller; and eight great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Nelms will be held at Grandview Park Baptist Church on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Hoyle, Pastor Edward Reese, and Pastor Doug McClain officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 6:30 until 8:00.
