Kathy Bishop

Ms. Kathy Marie Bishop, age 61, of Claremont passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Valley Nursing in Taylorsville. Born October 4, 1960 in Buncombe County, Kathy was a daughter of the late Charles and Juanita H. Bishop.Kathy had an associates degree in business.She was also a certified truck driver and dental associate to Service Dental Lab.Kathy enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing, going to car races, riding motorcycles, and dancing.She was a member of Walking By Faith Baptist Church.She loved her dogs, Teriara and Keisha.Most important was the love she had for her family.She will be remembered for her kind heart and generous nature. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Della and V.I. Greene; her paternal grandparents, Mabel and Arthur Bishop. Survivors include partner in life, Gary W. Robinson; her son, C. Shane Howell (wife Jessica); her sisters, Sheila Kirby (husband Kim), Kelly Coffey (husband Rick) and Shannon Bishop; three grandchildren, Taylor, Randi and Lukas; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of Kathy’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park at 3:30 PM with Pastor Marvin Ford officiating.Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Shumate, Josh Shumate, Paul Shumate, Rick Coffey, Marc McGee and Alan Robinson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
