Kathy Presnell Barnes

Kathy Presnell Barnes, age 63, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.She was born March 15, 1957 in Watauga County to the late Lee and Lovell Presnell.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lee Barnes, Jr.; and step-father, Hoover Presnell. Kathy was an active member of New Beginnings Baptist Church where she served as their treasurer and on other committees.She was an avid gardener and animal lover.She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ronnie Lee Barnes; son, Travis Barnes and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Aleighea and Tyler; numerous sister and brother-in-laws; nieces and nephews; as well as many friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm at New Beginnings Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Daniel Buchanan.Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be:Max Prestwood, Keith Price, Keith Scruggs, Luke Hoyle, William Goldsmith, and Leon Greer.
