Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Kathryn Lois Teague Maltba, age 79, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Caldwell County on June 22, 1933 to the late Adam Teague and Nettie Fox Teague. She was married to Reverend Melvin Maltba of the residence for 62 years. Mrs. Maltba was a member of Central Baptist Church. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Porter “Pat” Teague. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Dale Maltba and wife, Debbie; daughter, Deborah Smith and husband, Elden; sisters, Carolyn Hughes and Marilyn Teague; grandson, Brian Smith; and great-grandsons, Isaiah and Noah Maltba. A celebration of Mrs. Maltba’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Pastor John Jernigan and Pastor Ed Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lane Maltba, Brian Smith, Larry Norman, David Bennett, Doug Main and Isaiah Maltba. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 5:30 until 6:30. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to: Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645. The Maltba family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at both Caldwell Hospice facilities, Kirkwood and Robbins Center, for their love and support during Mrs. Maltba’s stay there.
