Kathryn Jackson

Kathryn Jackson, 97, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Kathryn was born on April 2, 1927, to the late Marion Robbins and Maude Austin.

In addition to her parents, Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Rufus Jackson; sons, Philip Jackson, Stephen Jackson; brothers, Jack Robbins, Lake Robbins; sisters-in-law Shirley Robbins and Peg Robbins.

Those left to cherish Kathryn’s memory are her grandchildren, Darci Gregoire, Andrew Jackson; great grandchildren, Veronica Van Broeck, Alexander Jackson; daughter in law, Kathleen Nakaidinae Jackson; sister, Carolyn Sigmon; nephew Neil and niece Rebecca. The daughter she never had, Shannon White and her husband Mike White, who were always there to pick things up. Her neighbors Lee and Russell Beaver and friends Janie Correll and Ruth Kincaid who shared laughs and great times.

Kathryn was an amazing woman and a dear friend.  She was known to be the life of the party.  She was an avid hat collector and had a hat for every day and every event.  Kathryn was a very classy lady, always dressed for the occasion.  She loved volunteering for Valmead Elementary School, Lenoir Women’s Club, The Women’s League, and The Red Hat Club.  Kathryn was a member at Greenway Presbyterian Church for many years.  She loved arranging her bouquets of flowers.  She took care of her husband “Bop” for many years when his health declined.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  Kathryn knew the importance of family and always made sure they came first and were always taken care of.

A memorial service to celebrate Kathryn’s life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Greenway Presbyterian Church, 415 Pennell Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 with Reverend Leah Epps officiating. The burial will follow at Bellview Cemetery in Lenoir, NC.
