Granite Falls, NC- Mrs. Kathleen Elizabeth Taylor Perkins, age 82, of Granite Falls, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in Camelot Manor Nursing Center in Granite Falls. Born March 9, 1927 in Jonesboro, TN, she was a daughter of the late Monroe and Maude Freeman Taylor and the wife of the late Benjamin Franklin Perkins. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Benny Perkins and one sister, Helen Taylor. Mrs. Perkins lived most of her life in North Carolina and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was retired from Thomasville Furniture. Mrs. Perkins enjoyed flowers and gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by one son, Bill Perkins of Granite Falls, 2 sisters, Ann and Kate; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, July 10, 2009 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Rodney Raby officiating.
