Katherine Denette Walker

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Katherine Denette Sanders Walker, age 60, of Lenoir, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born June 29, 1950 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Walker was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Alice Roberts Sanders and the wife of Coach Lee Walker of the home. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Greene and 5 brothers, Harvey Ray, Carroll, John, Mel Cade and Bill Sanders. Denette was a homemaker and member of Bethel Advent Christian Church. Her talents of sewing and crafts will be forever remembered by her family and friends. Denette will mostly be regarded by all for her love shown for her brother Cade in her care she gave to him. Other than her husband Lee, she is survived by her son, Charles Greene and wife Jamie of Lenoir; one daughter, Lavonda Barlow and husband Michael of Lenoir; 4 grandsons, Joshua Greene, Caleb Greene, Benjamin Barlow, Kevin Tiede and 2 granddaughters, Ashley Soots and Hannah Tiede. She is also survived by 4 sisters, Annie Mae Hice, Bonnie Downs and husband Carroll; Mary Dickerson and husband Pete, all of Lenoir; Beatrice Greene of Conover; one brother, Dwayne Sanders of Lenoir and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Denette?s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Bethel Advent Christian Church with Reverend Jerry Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 AM, one hour prior to the service at Bethel Advent Christian Church. Pallbearers will be: Andy Dickerson, Chris Presnell, Kirk Presnell, Mark Spencer, Jamie Dickerson and Garland Beaver.
