Karen Nichols Braswell, age 67, left her family way too soon on June 30, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County on July 16, 1956 to Lena Coffey Nichols and the late Clarence Walter Nichols.
Karen dedicated her life to her family and was a woman of great faith. She was the embodiment of love and remained selfless until her last breath. Karen was soft spoken, a gentle soul, yet she touched everyone she came in contact with. She was the perfect example of Christ-like love.

Other than her mother, Karen is survived by her children, Jason Nichols and wife, Mariah; Nicole Carpenter and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Dalton; Carter; Jaedyn; Gavin; Davis and Jaron “the twins”; Cole; brother, John Nichols; sister, Linda Nichols; and numerous other family and friends.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Todd Braswell officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
