Kara Brooke Chandler

Granite Falls, NC- Miss Kara Brooke Chandler, age 15, of Granite Falls, died Saturday, May 23, 2009. Born April 5, 1994 in Forsyth County, she is the daughter of Charlie and Alicia Smith Chandler of Granite Falls. She was preceded in death by her maternal Grandmother, Karen Jeanette Day Smith and her paternal Grandfather, Claude Thomas Chandler.  Kara was a freshman at South Caldwell High School, active in the Worship Point Baptist Church youth group and a member of Sims Country Cloggers.  Surviving other than her parents is her twin sister, Cressinda Lee Chandler of the home; her maternal Grandfather, Jerry Lee Smith of Hudson; her paternal Grandmother, Jean Forte Chandler of Cajah’s Mountain; her maternal Great-Grandmother, Madeline Smith of Lenoir a special friend, Harley Starnes of Lenoir and her adopted Aunt, Barbara Kirby and husband Fred of Vale.  A service to celebrate Kara’s life will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at West Lenoir Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Safriet, Reverend James Lockee and Reverend Randy Gibson officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 4:00 until 6:30 PM at West Lenoir Baptist Church.  A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Worship Point Baptist Church Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to: Gideon’s International, PO Box 169, Lenoir, NC 28645.  Online condolences may be sent to Kara’s Family at www.evansfuneralservice.com  Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir is serving the Chandler Family.
