J.W. Harris

Hudson, NC- Mr. J.W. Harris, age 81, of Hudson, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Asheville. Born September 25, 1932 in Burke County, Mr. Harris was a son of the late Millard Lee and Lela Ingle Harris and the husband of the late Frances Pope Harris. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Townsend and a brother, Millard Lee Harris, Jr. Mr. Harris was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his son, Robert “Bob” Lee Harris and wife Libby of Hudson and one sister, Shirley Henderson and husband Carl of Sawmills. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, May 2, 2014 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls with Chaplain Jack Taylor officiating. Full Military Honors will be observed.
