Justin Daniel Hamby

Justin Hamby Lenoir, NC- Justin Daniel Hamby, age 20, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born in Caldwell County on August 21, 1992 to Danny Ray Hamby and Jennifer Earp Tolbert. Justin was a 2010 graduate of South Caldwell High School and was attending Wilkes Community College seeking a degree in Criminal Justice so that he could pursue a career in law enforcement. He was employed with Food Lion on Wilkesboro Blvd. in Lenoir. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Hamby and great-grandfather, Posey Lovell. In addition to his parents he is survived by his step-mother, Michelle Hamby; step-father, Gregory Tolbert; his aunt and uncle Amy and Josh Coffey, who were like his second parents; sisters, Hannah Hamby and Kristen Tolbert; brother, Michael Griffin; step-brother, Tyler Keller and step-sister, Barbara Tolbert; grandparents, Annie Hamby, Phyllis and Dwight Earp, and Debra Harmon; and great-grandparents, Elizabeth Harmon. A celebration of Justin’s life will be at Mt. View Baptist Church in Deep Gap on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Barefoot and Pastor Mike Issacs officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Gragg, KC Coffey, Wesley Crowe, Kenneth Coffey, Spanky Graybeal, and David Winkler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Griffin, Tyler Keller, and Jasper Hamby. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6:30 until 8:00.
