Julius Junior Simmons

Lenoir, NC –  Mr. Julius Junior Simmons, age 64, of Lenoir, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born March 15, 1946 in Caldwell County, Julius was a son of Nellie G. Simmons and the late William Clyde Simmons. He was Baptist by faith and had attended the Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Hickory. He enjoyed working on cars. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Linda Kay Bolick Simmons; and his mother in law, Mary Bolick. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Joey and Jan Simmons of Lenoir, and Tracy Simmons of Kentucky; a daughter and son in law, Amy and Joe Johnson of Indiana; one sister and brother in law, Peggy and Bill Hinson of Granite Falls; four brothers and sisters in law, Ed and Pauline Simmons of Collettsville, Raymond and JoAnne Simmons of Happy Valley, Randy Simmons of Patterson, and Buddy and Helen Simmons of Bethlehem; his father in law, Jasper Bolick of Lenoir; his three loving pets, Nicki, Odie, and Precious; he is also survived by four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. A memorial service for Julius will take place on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Hickory at 6:00 PM. Officiating will be Preacher Joel Cook.
