Judy Benfield

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Judy Kay Benfield, age 69, of Hudson, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home. Born on November 24, 1943 in Caldwell County, Judy was a daughter of the late Ray Edward and Ennis Pierce Allen. She was Methodist by faith and was a talented artist. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and her flowers and bushes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Ray Allen. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Robert Douglas Benfield of the Home; a daughter, Shannon Yvonne Woodruff; a son, Robert Douglas Benfield II; four grandchildren, Robert Benfield III, Alyssa Benfield, Jonathan Benfield and Austin Woodruff; Judy is also survived by numerous other relatives.  A celebration of Judy’ life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Chaplain Steve Butler officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Woodruff, Joel Barlowe, Tommy Watson, Felix Hart, Robert Benfield III, Jonathan Benfield and Lester Perry. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
