Juanita Greene Bishop, age 76, of Hudson, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Caldwell County on July 6, 1940 to the late Vernon Greene and Della Wheeling Greene. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Greene. Mrs. Bishop was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a huge heart and never met a stranger; always willing to help someone in need. Her favorite time of year was Christmas as she loved to decorate and make all her bows. She earned the title of “Mrs. Claus”. Mrs. Bishop loved to travel and during her life she visited many places and saw many things. She was one-of-a-kind. Mrs. Bishop is survived by her husband, Herman Bishop; daughters, Kathy Bishop and Gary Robinson; Sheila Kirby and husband, Kim; Kelly Coffey and husband, Rick; and Shannon Bishop; brother, Harold Greene; sisters, Charlotte Deal and husband, Fred; Carolyn Burress and husband, Hugh; and Patsy Gryder; grandchildren, Shane Howell; Matthew Shumate; Joshua Shumate; Kayla Hamby; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Randi and Lukas Howell; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Bishop’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Lynn Parsons officiating. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matthew Shumate, Joshua Shumate, Shane Howell, Mark McGee, Matt Hiner and Paul Shumate.
